Elizabeth Farcello - Bead Artist
Page 1

Elizabeth Farcello's beaded designs are described as having a timeless quality, with a Victorian flare and clearly paying respect to Native American artists and their style of using beads. In addition to glass beads she also uses natural turquoise and a variety of other inputs in the creative process.

Born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, she attended high school in the Folsom/Fair Oaks area of Northern California, and has been a Nevada resident since 1965. Primarily a self-taught artist, Elizabeth attended bead and weaving classes, honing her creative skills while supporting herself as an employee in the casino industry.

Historical inspiration in her art comes from the work of Alphonse Mucha, Gustave Klimt and Claude Monet. She also admires the work of current bead artist Heidi Kummli. Elizabeth Farcello has exhibited her art at many venues in Northern Nevada, such as the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City, or the Charlie B Gallery of Fernley, where she also teaches beading workshops. The Doodads Cyber Cafe and Emporium in Silver City carries a selection of her work as well.

In her workshops she teaches the techniques of beading with seed beads and gemstones, covering brickstitch, flat and circular gourd stitch, loom work and the advanced bead embroidery using gemstone cabochons. Elizabeth Farcello can be contacted through the Charlie B Gallery at 775-575-7333.
